On Sunday the 12th of April the Ivanhoe Garden Club had a very successful bus trip to the Warrandyte area. We were very fortunate with the weather and though it was cold and a little grey at times we did not get the rain or wind that was forecast.

We visited two nurseries – Warran Glen in Warrandyte and Nillumbik Nursery in Diamond Creek. We were also thrilled to visit three wonderful private gardens that each offered something special. The following are some photos of the day –

Pat’s Garden

Morning tea was held at Pat’s garden and we had lovely cakes contributed by various members. One with special decoration.

Fiona’s Garden

Cheryl’s Garden

We had a wonderful day!

All of the gardeners were generous and welcoming, answering questions and sharing cuttings. The bus trips allow members to talk to each other at length, share food and wander gardens and nurseries sharing knowledge and ideas. They are special days. We also came home with a bus full of plants!

Thanks to the gardeners who hosted us, the nurseries we visited and to the bus trip sub-committee who organised the day. A job welll done!
